Curled Hannah's hair today. She loved it! She is soooooo gorgeous... But can someone please tell her to stop growing up so fast?!

Took Hannah shopping today to finally spend some of her gift cards and birthday money. She was adamant about buying Austin something with her money. She even wanted to go to the Disney Store first for him so she would not spend all of her money anywhere else and not have any left for him. They truly do love each other!!

I volunteered with a bunch of other photographers at Camp Care today on Lake Lure. We photographed kids who have or who are recovering from cancer. I am so grateful to take pictures of these kids. I was even more grateful to come home to my sweet babies.

Mom had them all day - from Austin's last swim lesson to the movies to Hannah's tennis clinic - they had a blast! What a great Mimi they have!

Austin was helping me water the plants outside in our garden tonight. I leaned over a few of them and said "Hmm... These two aren't doing so well." Austin said "They don't feel well, Momma? What's wrong? Are they sick?"

Favorite moment of today: all four of us dancing to loud music in the truck. We sat in the driveway for several minutes before the song was over, blaring it loud. Haven't smiled that much in a long time!

Movie night tonight. Somehow the kids all end up on the love seat with me before the movie ends. It's the smallest space in the house to sit - but we all cram in and enjoy. Love my sweet babies.

Happy Father's Day to an amazing dad!! We spent the afternoon playing putt putt and then enjoying ice cream cones!

Soccer Saturday again today. Austin scored two more goals! So proud of my soccer babies. We spent the afternoon/evening at the pool with the Flynn family and came home to all curl up in bed with a movie. LOVE days like this!!

Spent the other day with my grandma and didn't get a chance to write about it. I took her to the Glebe Hill Gardens and had a great time with just the two of us. I am so lucky to have her be such a big part of my life.

We were catching lightning bugs tonight at Mimi and Papa's house. We were looking at them in the cup and one of them wasn't lighting up anymore. Hannah asked if it was dead and I told her no. Austin chimed in and said "He just lost its power."

Soccer Saturday again today! Austin scored another goal (his 3rd of the season) and Hannah scored two today (we've lost count of how many she has scored this year!) I absolutely love watching my kids play sports. And I am completely okay that almost every single Saturday this year has been spent at Strikers Soccer Center. Couldn't think of a better way to spend a day then watching those blonde haired kids running around the field!

June 8

Today was Hannah's last day of school and we celebrated by going to dinner and then having a great family night at home in our bed. At one point, with all four of us in our bed, I looked over and thought my heart would burst with happiness. I love this family of mine so much and want to appreciate each and every minute with them. Here's to a GREAT summer ahead!!

June 7

I took Austin to the doctor today and as we were walking back with the nurse, he said "Are they gonna scale me, Momma?" I think he meant "Are they gonna weigh me?" but I just went with it and told him they were gonna scale him. It was too cute. My sweet, sweet boy.

Austin was playing baseball in the cul de sac and he hit a foul ball. He said "Wait! Wait! That's a uh, uh, f... - that's a restart!!" clearly he couldn't think of the word "foul!" Precious boy!

Hannah's last day of gymnastics was today. She has gone once a week since school started in September. Whew. She LOVED it! And of course part of the reason she loved it so much may have had a little bit to do with seeing Mo Mo every Tuesday!

Spent the afternoon at the pool today after a long walk/bike ride/scooter ride on the greenway this morning. What a great family day! (and Hannah ran into several friends at the pool too! What a bunch of bathing beauties!)

Soccer Saturday followed by the Thomas crew coming over for a cookout. Who could ask for a better Saturday??

Hannah, Mike and I went to Grandma and Pap's memorial service in Danville. The service honored Pap and his time in the military. It was very moving and I am glad Hannah got to experience it. I hope she grows up knowing the importance Grandma and Pap had on her daddy's life.

I met with Hannah's teacher today for an end of the year conference. She said that Hannah is a very well rounded student who excels both in and out of the classroom. She said she has a huge heart and is always the first to bend over backwards to help her friends. I am so incredibly proud of my little girl. Words really can't describe it.

More driving the kids to and from activities today. I am so grateful that I have his time with them.

Off to the lake we go to celebrate Memorial Day with the Thomas crew. A favorite summertime activity!

We had the Siersma family over tonight for a cookout and a friendly family game of kickball. It was a great time and made me wonder why we don't entertain more often? My kids loved it!

Daddy and Austin went to the race today and I took Hannah to the pool for the afternoon. Woo hoo! Summer is here!

A recent conversation with Hannah:

"Sometimes I stick up for my friends, Mom. If someone is being mean to them, I will ask the other person how THEY would feel if I said that to them? They usually say they wouldn't like it an apologize. It feels good to stick up for my friends."
